Skillet Street Food founder Josh Henderson dished his tips for the tailgate grill in the November issue of Seattle Met. I got the assignment call right before a recent trip to Kauai and was stoked for a fun portrait session before hopping on the plane. Continuing a string of recent editorial photo assignments that required some serious safety gear and liability waivers to be signed, I found myself getting a glimpse of the storied circus act — the flying trapeze — at Emerald City Trapeze Arts in Seattle. I followed a couple newbies through ‘ground school’ and their first attempts to fly and a couple regulars working to progress.



Fresh off the press in the July issue of Seattle Met is a piece I photographed on tree climbing. Now I’ve climbed many trees growing up as a free-range child in Eastern Washington and even spent my fair share of time tied to a rope on a rock wall, but this was my first time on a rope ascending into a tree.

A quick tearsheet post to start 2010… As the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver draw near, I was assigned an editorial photo shoot about curling by Seattle Metropolitan magazine which recently hit the news stand in the January issue. The shoot took place at Granite Curling Club in Seattle, the only dedicated ice for curling in the Western U.S.



Northwest skier Shane Treat sends it at Alpental in the November issue of Backcountry Magazine available on news stands now.

Nice to be recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists’ NW chapter in the 2008 Excellence in Journalism awards. Editorial work for Seattle Metropolitan magazine garnered two second place awards in the Sports and General News. Quick tearsheets below.
